（ベッドに10人）

この歌は数を数える練習ができます。特に10から１まで逆の順番で数える練習ができます。間奏もたくさんあるので、次に何の数字がくるか生徒に聞くこともできます。

1番が終わるごとに”Now how many?” （次は何人？ ）と聞きます。振り付けは、次の「歌詞と振り付け」で書かれている通りでもいいですし、歌詞が”so they all rolled over and one fell out!” （みんな寝返りをうったら１人落っこちちゃった！ ）のところで全員が同じ方向に床をごろごろと転がっても楽しいですよ。（大勢の場合はお勧めできません。）同じ歌詞のところになったら逆に転がります。

（みんなが座っている状態からスタートです。）

There were ten in the bed and the little one said, (Hold up 10 fingers.)
ベッドに１０人いました。小さい子が言いました、（１０本の指を見せます。）

"Roll over, roll over" (Roll hands around each other.)
もっとそっち行って。もっとそっち行って。（両手を回します。）

So they all rolled over and one fell out. (Everyone rolls to the right.)
みんな寝返りをうったら１人落っこちちゃった。（みんな右に転がります。）

Nine! (Hold up 10 fingers and then take one away, leaving 9.)
９人！（１０本の指を見せてから１本折り曲げ、９本を見せます。）

There were nine in the bed and the little one said, (Hold up 9 fingers.)

"Roll over, roll over" (Roll hands around each other.)
もっとそっち行って。もっとそっち行って。（両手を回します。）

So they all rolled over and one fell out. (Everyone rolls to the left.)

Eight! (Hold up 9 fingers and then take one away, leaving 8.)

寂しいよ、、、（ため息）（肩を落とします。そしてみんなでハグしましょう！

”There Were Ten in the Bed” （ベッドに子供が10人）の絵本をお持ちの方はこの歌を歌いながら子供に読んでみて下さい。先生や保護者の方が　”There were ten in the bed and the little one said…”（ベッドに１０人いました。小さい子が言いました）と歌い、子供は“Roll over, roll over!”（ もっとそっち行って。もっとそっち行って。）と歌います。

クラスに10人以上生徒がいる場合は歌う生徒と演技をする生徒と分けてみましょう。演技をする10人には歌の歌詞どおりに動いてもらい、他の生徒は大きな声で歌います。また、ぬいぐるみや指人形を使って歌の振り付けをしても楽しいですよ。
